Optum is seeking an Associate Medical Coder to play a vital role in coding medical records. This position outlines the responsibility for coding inpatient and outpatient records daily, ensuring precision in indexing crucial medical information that contributes to accurate hospital reimbursements and assists in governmental planning. You are expected to maintain an exceptional accuracy rate of 95% in ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes.
Additional responsibilities include attending coding meetings for professional development, demonstrating adaptability in work hours, and cultivating strong working relationships with hospital staff. Ideal candidates will be graduates, certified by AAPC or AHIMA, and hold a coding certification such as CPC, CCS, CIC, or COC.
